CLEVELAND -- White County is off to its best start since 2009 and in impressive fashion.

One week after blanking Habersham Central, the Warriors finally gave up a score on Friday night, but the touchdown didn't make much difference in a 34-7 defeat of Lumpkin County in Cleveland.

White County (2-0) ran out to a 27-0 first half lead and held the rival Indians (0-2) to just 32 yards rushing on 27 carries for the game.

Meanwhile, Warriors quarterback Will Brock put up 209 total yards and three touchdowns -- including 108 yards passing and two scores on 8 of 12 passing. He also rushed five times for 101 yards and a touchdown.

Andrew Posten got the scoring started for White County, scooping up a fumble and returning it five yards for a touchdown.

Sean Greer also rushed nine times for 51 yards and a score, while Jeffrey Scoggin caught five passes for 86 yards and two touchdowns.

The Warriors yielded their first touchdown in the fourth quarter after seven scoreless quarters to start the season.

White County will look to keep rolling next week at Fannin County.

Lumpkin County will look to bounce back at West Hall next week.
