Yonah-Homer Road reopens after early morning crash involving horse

HOMER - Authorities had to close Yonah-Homer Road in Banks County for more than an hour as they cleared an accident between a vehicle and a horse.

Banks County dispatch officials said a vehicle hit the horse near Silver Shoals Road around 6:00 a.m. The horse was killed in the crash. Officials said there were no other reported injuries.

A second horse apparently was runnning free in the area at the time of the accident.
