TOCCOA - A young Toccoa woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday night in Stephens County, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Troopers said the accident happened about 7:25 p.m. when 22-year-old Lindsey Carolyn Worley lost control of her vehicle on Brookhaven Circle and crossed into oncoming traffic near Williams Circle.

Worley's vehicle struck a pickup truck being driven by 45-year-old Patrick Shane Howington of Cornelia.

Investigators said Worley died at the scene. Howington was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Worley was one of 10 people killed in Labor Day weekend traffic accidents around the state.
