GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville teenager appeared for a preliminary hearing Friday morning in Hall County Magistrate Court on charges she murdered her 9-day-old daughter this summer.

Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh confirmed that Haley Clark's case was bound over to Superior Court. He said the next step in the process will be an indictment from a Hall County Grand Jury but that has yet to be scheduled.

Investigators arrested Clark on Aug. 6 in connection with the death of her infant daughter Olivia Clark.

Investigators said Hall County EMS units and sheriff's deputies responded to the 5200 block of Hopewell Lane on July 18 just after 1 p.m. to a report of an infant who had stopped breathing. The infant was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, according to investigators.

Authorities said following an investigation, Clark was arrested without incident and booked into the Hall County Jail, where she is being held without bond on one count of murder.
