GAINESVILLE - In a joint statement released this afternoon, Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) and UnitedHealthcare announced they have reached a long-term, multi-year agreement that gives all UnitedHealthcare employer-sponsored and individual health plans in-network access to all NGHS facilities and NGPG physicians. Patients who have UnitedHealthcare insurance are once again in-network with all NGHS facilities and physicians including:

● Northeast Georgia Medical Center

● Northeast Georgia Physicians Group

● Urgent Care (all locations including Braselton, Buford and Gainesville)

● Imaging Center (all locations including Braselton and Gainesville)

● The Rehabilitation Institute (all locations including Braselton, Buford, Cleveland, Dahlonega, Dawsonville, Gainesville and Oakwood)

● The Toccoa Cancer Center

● Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center

The renewed network relationship is retroactive to Aug. 22, and any eligible UnitedHealthcare plan participant health care expenses incurred since Aug. 22 will receive coverage at in-network benefit levels.

"We've worked diligently to finalize the details of a new agreement that is mutually beneficial for all involved, most importantly our patients, and improves the overall health of the community we serve," says Sean Couch, public relations manager at NGHS. "We believe our renewed relationship with UnitedHealthcare strengthens our ability to improve the coordination of care in the future, secures top quality care for our patients and allows us to serve UnitedHealthcare plan customers in our community in the same manner that we have for many years."

"Northeast Georgia Health System is an important provider of health care services in this area, and our renewed relationship strengthens our joint commitment to provide quality, cost-effective health care for UnitedHealthcare plan participants near where they live and work," said Rick Elliott, CEO, UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual of Georgia.

Patients with UnitedHealthcare insurance can now continue their care at NGHS and can schedule any procedures, surgeries or other visits that they may have decided to delay during the negotiations and brief out-of-network period.

"There is no need to wait," says Couch. "We're ready to serve these patients and acknowledge the inconvenience and uncertainty that they have experienced. We look forward to providing in-network care at full benefit levels and this contract achieves that objective."
