Softball: Jackson County outlasts Archer, 6-4

The Jackson County softball team defeated Archer 6-4 on Tuesday.

The Lady Panthers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and traded runs throughout before pulling ahead for good with two more runs in the sixth.

Victoria Fontana helped lead Jackson County (2-0) at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI a run scored and a walk, while Shelton Kendrix also went 2-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored. Mason Garland, Jessica Baker, Peyton Sorrells and Andrea Ledford also drove in runs for the Lady Panthers.

Peyton Sorrell pitched a complete game for Jackson, allowing nine hits while striking out three.
