Gwinnett Co. to sell guns seized by police

LAWRENCEVILLE - Gwinnett County officials have found a way to turn guns seized by police officers into cash.

In the past, Gwinnett Police would destroy weapons they confiscated during crimes, but for the second time, the county has entered into a deal with a gun dealer to sell off those guns with the profits going to the police budget.

Gwinnett County commissioners signed a contract this week with an Alabama gun dealer. As part of that agreement, the county gets $10,000 in exchange for about 60 seized guns.
