Dawsonville businessman, real estate developer dies

DAWSONVILLE - Dawson County businessman and real estate developer Don Stephens has died. He was 74-years-old.

Stephens died Friday at his home following a period of declining health.

He was co-founder of Byrd-Stephens Building Supply and the Dawson 400 Center, a shopping complex along Georgia 400 in Dawsonville. Stephens was one of organizers of First Community Bank and developed several other commercial and residential properties in the Dawson County area. He also served as trustee of Lumpkin Campground for 44 years.

The funeral will be held Monday at 11:00 in the Arbor at Lumpkin Campground.
