CORNELIA - One day after being released from jail in Hall County on federal charges, a Cornelia woman was booked at the Habersham County Detention Center on state drug charges.

Celia Savage was arrested Thursday and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

Habersham County Sheriff Joey Terrell said the drug charges stem from the same investigation in May that led to the federal explosives charges. He said his investigators could not proceed with their case until Savage was released from federal custody.

Terrell said Savage was brought directly from the Hall County facility to the Habersham County jail, was booked on the state charges and then released on a $6,000 bond.

Savage on Wednesday posted $25,000 secured bond in connection with her arrest in May on explosives charges.

A federal judge had previously ordered Celia Savage held until her trial after prosecutors argued she could be a threat to others. Her lawyer filed a request earlier this week asking for her release on strict conditions.

Under the conditions for her release, she is to be confined to her grandparents' home except for work, medical treatment or court appearances and undergo psychotherapy. She is also not allowed to contact any witnesses in the case, use or possess weapons, use alcohol or narcotics, or use social media.

Savage faces federal drug and explosives charges. Authorities in May raided her Cornelia home and found pipe bombs, multiple guns and suspected illegal drugs.
