New venue for Fri. ASO concert in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE - Due to the threat of rain, the venue for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's Gainesville concert Friday night has been changed.

The concert is being moved from the amphitheater at the Arts Council Smithgall Arts Center to the Georgia Mountains Center Arena.

Doors will open at 6:00. The concert begins at 8:00.

Garrett Keast will be the conductor. His professional conducting career began at New York City Opera where he served as associate conductor for several productions over three seasons. Keast's 2012 season includes performances with the Opera National de Paris, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonieorchester Wuppertal, and Oper Bonn with the SWR Radio Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart.

Tickets: $35 Adult; $32 Senior; $28 Student; $320 Table for eight.
