CLEVELAND -- A 39-year-old Cleveland man has been identified as the person who died in a four-vehicle wreck south of Cleveland Saturday night.

The investigating trooper said Todd Andrew Sumption, 39, of Cleveland died en route from the scene to Gwinnett Medical Center in a medical helicopter.

The crash occurred in a no-passing zone around 9:30 p.m. Saturday and involved a total of four vehicles.

The wreck happened at 9:34 p.m. on Georgia Highway 11 (U.S. Highway 129) between Jacky Jones Ford and the south end of Tommy Cowart Road.

Vehicles involved included a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, a Chevrolet Suburban, a Saturn Vue SUV and Sumption's Ford Focus -- which came apart on impact, the trooper said.

The trooper said most of those hurt suffered minor injuries.

Charges are pending in the wreck, which also remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol's Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team.

The Georgia Department of Transportation set up a detour, which was in place for more than six hours. The highway reopened at approximately 3:50 a.m. Sunday.

Additional information, including names of other drivers, could be released Monday, the trooper said.
