NORCROSS - Georgia authorities say they've seized 15 pounds of methamphetamine worth $300,000 after a police chase and crash in Gwinnett County.

State troopers say they tried to pull over a Jeep Cherokee on Interstate 85 on Tuesday afternoon but the driver kept going.

The man exited the highway onto a street and collided with another driver.

Authorities say the driver is being charged with drug trafficking after troopers found the illegal drug in the vehicle. State troopers identify the man as 32-year-old Joel Martinez of Michoacan, Mexico.

The driver had to be treated at a hospital for injuries and will be held in the Gwinnett County Jail.
