Sugar Hill man charged with DUI with child in front seat

SUGAR HILL - A Sugar Hill man is facing charges after driving down the wrong side of the street with his child in the front seat.

"We had somebody call in because of his erratic driving," said Gwinnett County Police Cpl. Jake Smith.

Smith told Channel 2 News that witnesses saw 37-year-old Rodolfo Delacuesta driving erratically down Level Creek Road Saturday and called authorities.

"It was actually in the parking lot of a convenience store/liquor store, that's where they actually encountered him," he said.

Smith said that's when officers saw the 8-year-old in Delacuesta's front seat.

Smith said Delacuesta is charged with DUI, child endangerment and violating the open container law.
