CLARKESVILLE - For the third year in a row, the Missions Committee of Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church in Young Harris has donated a portion of the proceeds from their annual rummage sale to the North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) Foundation.

The monies will fund scholarships for Towns County students with financial needs who are enrolled at the college and may be used to pay for tuition, books and fees. A portion of the donation will be available to pay for the increased cost of $160 for GED testing for Towns County students who are unable to cover the amount themselves.

The HOPE Grants and Scholarships no longer cover the entire cost of tuition, fees and books for students. With an uncertain economy, many students are experiencing increased financial challenges and are no longer able to complete their course of study, graduate and go to work. To learn more about making a tax deductible donation, you can call 706-754-7714 or visit www.northgatech.edu.s.
