Gainesville Highway reopens in Baldwin

BALDWIN -- Baldwin personnel have cleared a downed pine tree from Gainesville Highway, allowing the road to reopen between Baldwin Fire Department/Fieldale Farms Headquarters and Duncan Bridge Road.

The Habersham County 9-1-1 Center notified WDUN of the road closure about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, but because of proximity to the fire department and city maintenance shop the road blockage was cleared quickly.

Debris from the downed tree remains on the roadside, and motorists traveling that section of the road are asked to use caution until it is removed.
