Baseball: Flowery Branch knocks off Winder, tied for first in 8A-AAAA

WINDER -- The Flowery Branch baseball team is hitting its stride at just the right time.

The Falcons won their seventh straight game on Monday, doubling up on Winder-Barrow 6-3 in Winder, handing the Bulldoggs their first region defeat of the season.

The victory not only kept the Falcons (15-3, 9-1 Region 8-AAAA) rolling, it also moved them into a tie for first place in 8-AAAA's subregion A with the Bulldoggs (13-6, 10-1).

Flowery Branch can take sole possession of first place with a win over Winder at home.

No other information was immediately available.
