Piedmont's three-match winning streak was snapped by visiting Agnes Scott over the weekend, but a win over the Lady Panthers gave the women their fourth win in the last five matches.
Freshman Meghan Smith led the way for the Lady Lions, winning in straight sets in her No. 3 singles match by scores of 6-1, 6-0, losing just one game in the process. She then teamed with her doubles partner to take a hard-fought 8-6 win in doubles flight one. Piedmont is now 5-6 overall and 3-2 in GSAC contests, and will look to rise above .500 when traveling to Berry College Thursday for a match at 3 p.m.
