Girls basketball: Lady Falcons continue historic start, whip GHS

FLOWERY BRANCH -- The Flowery Branch girls basketball team continues to roll.

The Lady Falcons extended their best-ever start with a 48-32 win over Gainesville Tuesday night.

Flowery Branch, now 10-0, is in the midst of its best start in team history.

Senior Tavia Sykes paced the Lady Falcons with 19 points and Dani Lacko added 14 for Flowery Branch.

Gainesville (2-4) was led by Breanna Fair and Kayla Kelly with nine points each.

The Lady Red Elephants next will play Lakeview Academy on Friday in the consolation round of the Lanierland Tournament.

The Lady Falcons next will take on two-time Lanierland defending champion East Hall in the semifinals on Thursday at the Gainesville High gym.
