Basketball: North Ga. Christian splits with Horizon Christian

The North Georgia Christian basketball teams split contests with Horizon Christian on Monday night.

The Lady Chargers defeated Horizon Christian 40-38 at home. The Lady Chargers trailed the entire game until taking the lead with less than a minute to play. Julianne Sutton lead the Lady Chargers by pouring in 27 points, 19 of those coming in the second half. Sarah Rhodes also chipped in six points for the Lady Chargers, including the game winner with less than a minute to play. The Lady Chargers are now 6-2 on the season and will play Holy Ground Christian at home on Thursday.

In the boys game, the Chargers lost to the Warriors 71-62. The game was back and forth the whole evening until the Warriors pulled away in the final two minutes. Sam Youngblood lead the Chargers with 19 points including five 3-pointers. Caleb Eppling added 14 points and Norris Rettiger controlled the backboard with 20 rebounds. The Chargers will also take on Holy Ground Christian at home on Thursday.
