BETHLEHEM - A Barrow County man was arrested Thursday on multiple counts of sexual exploitation of children.

Lt. Matt Guthas with the Barrow County Sheriff's Office identified the suspect as Willie Stancil Etheridge, Jr. of Bethlehem.

Guthas said local authorities received a tip on November 30 about illicit activity on Ethridge's home computer from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

"He was arrested and taken to the detention center [Barrow County] where he has been charged with 29 counts of sexual exploitation of children," said Guthas. "The investigation is still ongoing, so there are additional charges pending."

Guthas said once local authorities received the information from the GBI, they obtained a search warrant and arrested Etheridge at his home.
