GAINESVILLE - Hall County Chief Appraiser Steve Watson has been appointed to serve on the Georgia Association of Assessing Officials (GAAO) Education Steering Committee.

The group addresses the education needs of assessors and appraisers in the state of Georgia. It determines topics of current interest, develops and presents one-day seminars sponsored by GAAO. This committee prepares a written annual report that is presented to the Education Steering Committee to offer input into the Georgia Certification Program sponsored by the Georgia Department of Revenue.

"On behalf of the Executive Board of the Georgia Association of Assessing Officials, we welcome someone with Steve's experience, expertise and passion for our business, and we're excited to have him on the Education Steering Committee, which, in my opinion, is one of the most important committees that we have," said Ashley O'Donald, GAAO Executive Board North District board member.

Watson has previously served on the GAAO Executive Board in 1996-1997, as well as the Education Steering Committee.
