Gwinnett Fire Department investigators said Hamilton died of smoke and soot inhalation.
The fire at the house on Edith Lane was reported just after 12:00 a.m. Monday. Fire department officials said neighbors told them that someone was inside the house when firefighters arrived on the scene, but the fire was so intense, they could not enter the house.
Apparently, Hamilton had been renovating the home, and he had stayed at the house the night of the fire.
Gwinnett investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
