SPARTA - A Cumming man who owned a deer processing business in Hancock County was found murdered at the business Sunday night, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The GBI's John Bankhead said the body of Nelson Garner, 60, was found by a relative around 9:30 last night at Garner's Grinder, located at 18630 Highway 16 in Sparta. Garner was last seen alive at 4:00 p.m. Sunday.

Agents from the GBI's Milledgeville Office are assisting in the investigation at the request of Hancock County Sheriff Tomlyn Primus.

Bankhead said an autopy was conducted Monday and investigators do know the cause of Garner's death, but that information is not being released, since the investigation is ongoing.

Bankhead said Garner stayed at the business during hunting season, but was a resident of Cumming.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Hancock Sheriff's Office at 706-444-6471 or the GBI Tip Line at 1-800-597-TIPS (8477).
