SUWANEE - City of Suwanee officials are looking into the idea of adding mini cell phone towers to city property.

Council members in Suwanee are discussing the towers after a company recently approached city officials with the proposal.

City Manager Marty Allen said the idea would involve attaching cell towers or technology to city property such as buildings and light poles with the aim of improving "dead" areas and places where cell service can be inconsistent.

Allen said the towers could be a potential revenue source for the city, but better cell reception would be the driving factor if city officials pursue the idea further.

Suwanee is about 30 miles northeast of Atlanta.
