They report that both the Gainesville City and Hall County school systems are showing 100-percent participation from their schools and have raised over $100,000. The top fundraising school is C.W. Davis Middle School pledging $5,237 - an 18-percent increase over last year. Gainesville High School was not far behind - raising $5,139 - a 14-percent increase.
While final results won't be known in until Mid-December, Publix Super Markets, the agency's top contributor, has reported an increase in employee giving.
Campaign Chair Philip Wilheit, Jr. is encouraged by the results so far and is thankful for the hard work of everyone involved in the campaign.
"We know that this is a difficult fundraising year and our cabinet is diligently working to identify new campaign opportunities in the community," Wilheit said.
Through the efforts of the cabinet six new companies have hosted a campaign so far this year.
"We are at the peak of campaign with payroll deduction campaigns wrapping up in December. We are anxiously awaiting their results," he continued.
