CUMMING - Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation (Sawnee EMC) announced Tuesday that the Corporation's Board of Directors recently approved the funding of its 2013 energy efficiency rebates and incentives program commonly known as Demand Side Management (DSM). This program provides financial incentives to support members in reducing their energy consumption through energy improvement measures at their home or business. The 2013 program will total over $1.5 million.

The board has approved the allocation of $1.5 million to the cooperative's 2013 DSM rebates and incentives program. This program offers targeted rebates and incentives to Sawnee members who deploy energy saving improvements or take other qualifying measures to reduce their energy consumption, which includes participation in Sawnee's Load Management switch program for HVAC units.

"Our members have told us that they need financial help when making certain energy related improvements in their homes and businesses" states Blake House, V.P. of Member Services. He adds "we feel that our members benefit most from the efficient use of electricity and we want them to be able to make these improvements so they can save on their bill and we can save on power costs. We see it as a win-win partnership."
