GAINESVILLE - Hall County Commissioners may have a large crowd at their regular meeting Thursday night as they plan to vote on a couple of controversial rezoning issues.

Residents along the Athens Highway corridor in District 4 say they will rally at the meeting to protest a proposed permanent landfill on a 50+-acre site near Monroe Drive.

Also, residents in the East Hall area say they will be at the meeting in opposition to a planned poultry processing plant on Timberridge Road in District 3, even though county planners have recommended denial of the project.

This will be the first commission meeting at the new Hall County Government Center on Browns Bridge Road. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
