Alcohol sales votes mixed in N. Ga.

UNDATED - Voters in three north Georgia communities gave approval to alcohol ordinances on Tuesday.

Lumpkin County voters approved both Sunday package sales and Sunday alcohol by the drink sales. The package sales referendum passed with 63.18% of the vote, while the individual drink measure passed with 63.67%.

In Dahlonega, Sunday package sales were approved with 73.98% voting yes on the measure.

Also, voters in Baldwin, in Habersham County, have approved liquor by the drink in the city. During Tuesday's Special Election, 169 of the city's registered voters (32.3%) cast ballots, with 100 (59.17%) voting yes and 69 (40.83 %) voting no.

Banks County voters, meanwhile, rejected Sunday package sales with 52.43% of voters casting a "no" vote.
