Man instrumental in establishing Hall Co. bookmobile, Lakeview Academy dies

GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville businessman who was instrumental in establishing the Hall County Library bookmobile and Lakeview Academy has died.

Ivan Cecil Stovall, who was 80, died Saturday at his home following an extended illness.

Stovall began his business career as Secretary and Treasurer of the Gainesville Midland Railroad from 1951 to 1960. He started an accounting-tax practice in 1955, known as Stovall Bookkeeping & Tax Service. Stovall later incorporated and then added a real estate practice, Stovall Associates LTD in 1976. He was instrumental in establishing the Hall County Library bookmobile and served on the library board in the early 1960s. He was also instrumental in the establishment of Gainesville Academy later known as Lakeview Academy.

The funeral will be Monday at 3:00 at Little-Davenport Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville.
