The victory saw the Lions finish out 2012 with a 6-2 record -- their previous best record were back-to-back 4-4 finishes in 2010 and '11.
"I really feel like our senior class did it the right way and set a standard about how we do things here, how we work, how we practice, how we play," said Lakeview coach Matthew Gruhn, whose team will graduate its largest ever senior class after this season -- 17 players.
"What they did will carry over. We're improving every year with what we want to do. We're nowhere near where we want to be, but we're making strides."
The Lions stayed in control from the start on Friday, as Ted Reynolds rushed for two touchdowns and over 200 yards. Trevor Price also came up with several key plays, while Gruhn singled out the play of Alex Oliver, Eric Baldwin and Carter Ross.
"Those guys have been with us all four years," Gruhn said. "It's been a special group."
