Council member Thursday night approved over $280,000 in funding for about 3.5 miles of resurfacing work.
"We're going to tag team with Oakwood and some other municipalities to try and get a larger group bid so we can get the best price," Flowery Branch Mayor Mike Miller said.
Mayor Mike Miller said the previous schedule of paving in the city came in at .8 miles per year.
"With our current inventory of road being right at 25 miles, it would take us about 27 years to completely repave every road in the city, if we didn't add any roads," Miller said.
He said the current council and previous council wanted to focus on infrastructure needs. Miller called roads a big infrastructure need in the city.
