GAINESVILLE -- For the past month, the Gainesville Jaycees have been hard at work raising funds to support their Empty Stocking Fund project, which provides Christmas to less fortunate children in the Hall County area.

Tonight, however, the Jaycees will step up their efforts, as they provide a final chance for Gainesville football fans to get in on the raffle that will help support the Empty Stocking Fund.

The Jaycees are raffling off a 1973 Jeep CJ-6 that has been carefully restored after seeing service in the Alabama Department of Natural Resources. One of only 2,000 issued in the United States, the CJ-6 has a 104-inch wheelbase (20 inches longer than the CJ-5).

Members of the Jaycees will be on hand near Green Street Pool, starting at 4:30 p.m., to offer raffle tickets for this unique vehicle.

The Empty Stocking Fund helped provide Christmas gifts for over 400 children in the Hall County area last year.
