GAINESVILLE - Lanier Charter Career Academy (LCCA) will be hosting the 2nd Annual Lighting of the Oaks on December 1.

The event will feature visits with Santa, a gingerbread house competition, shopping with elves, the annual hall of trees, local crafters, children's activities, holiday refreshments, and special holiday performances by local choirs and music groups.

It will take place on the campus of The Oaks at LCCA. Festivities will begin at 4:30 with the lighting of the oaks at 7:30. This free event is open to the public.

As part of this event, LCCA is seeking local crafters to display and sell their works at a craft show during the Lighting of The Oaks. The craft show will be open from 4:30 to 8:30.

At 12:30 p.m. on December 1, LCCA students will also be hosting a Mister/Miss Georgia Holiday pageant with proceeds benefiting the Hall County Animal Shelter. The winners will have opportunities to make appearances at community events during their reign. For more information on how to enter the pageant, contact Nicole Columbo at [email protected].
