GAINESVILLE -- The Lakeview Academy football team sure picked an impressive way for a statement game on Friday.

Knowing that a victory would secure the Lions' first ever winning campaign, Lakeview left no doubt, blasting North Cobb Christian 63-28 in Gainesville.

The Lions (5-2) put an authoritative stamp on the game just seconds after the opening kickoff when running back Trevor Price exploded for a 70-yard touchdown run. It was part of a dominating night for Price, who put up four touchdowns, including a 35-yard fumble return for a score.

Lakeview's defense also clamped down early, aiding the Lions' to a 50-0 scoreline before North Cobb Christian finally began to put points on the board.

"We're trying not to get too excited because we've got some more to go this season," Lions coach Matthew Gruhn said. "These seniors, though, are a special class and they want to go out on top."

Price is included in that group and he finished with two rushing scores and a receiving touchdown.

The Lions defense also forced a safety and got a 55-yard interception return for a score from Chance Calderhead.

The Lions will play host to Towns County next week to wrap their regular season.
