Dogs' hoops, gridiron graduation rates up; Tech last in ACC

Georgia's football program ranked fifth in the Southeastern Conference with a 69 percent graduation rate in the latest NCAA statistics, while Georgia Tech tied for last in the Atlantic Coast Conference at 55 percent.

The graduation success report released Thursday shows the Bulldogs improved 4 percentage points from the previous year to rank behind Vanderbilt, LSU, Alabama and Florida in the SEC. Georgia Tech's gridiron rate held steady, leaving the Yellow Jackets tied with Florida State at the bottom of the ACC.

Also, the Yellow Jackets ranked last in the ACC in men's basketball with a paltry 18 percent, down from 27 percent the previous year. Georgia improved from 43 percent to 50 percent in men's hoops, though its ranking within the SEC actually fell two places to ninth.
