LAWRENCEVILLE - The trial of a man accused of killing four people has started in Gwinnett County.

Richard Ringold could face the death penalty if he is convicted of going on a shooting rampage in 2009 that killed his girlfriend, Antonia Butler, her 11-year-old daughter, Jhane Thomas, and two other adults inside the home.

Two other people wounded in the shooting survived.

The trial marks the first time in seven years that a Gwinnett County jury has been asked to decide a potential death penalty case.
