The eighth-ranked Bulldogs (5-1, 3-1 Region 7-AAAAAA) pulled ahead for good in the second quarter and saw off a third quarter charge from the Hawks, who pulled within 30-28.
North Gwinnett's defense came up with a huge interception with just over six minutes to play, snagging a screen pass and returning it for a score to pull ahead 40-28.
Jacorey Lewis led Mill Creek's offense with 227 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 21 carries. Davozea Felton also rushed for 61 yards and a score.
The Hawks (4-3, 3-2) will look to bounce back next week at Duluth.
North Gwinnett will play host to Habersham Central next Friday.
