GAINESVILLE - Gainesville Police Wednesday afternoon released the name of the man killed in a traffic accident on Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville Tuesday night.

The collision happened when 35 year old David Thomas Freeman Junior of Gainesville was headed west on Browns Bridge Road on a motorcycle, according to police Corporal Kevin Holbrook.

"A Toyota Camry, traveling eastbound, made a left hand turn in front of Mr. Freeman, into the Cresswinds Subdivision," Holbrook said.

He identified the car driver as 64 year old Helina Wheeler of Gainesville.

Holbrook said the investigation continues with the city's accident reconstructionist working the case. No charges have been filed.

Lori Ann Burton of Gaineville said she was the first to come up on the accident.

"I called 911. I held his hand and tried to keep him awake. He told me he was 35 and married. The last thing he said was, 'it's ok.' He passed out before they got him into ambulance," Burton said.

Freeman passed away at the hospital. The accident happened around 7:30 p.m.

Also Tuesday night, authorities worked an accident on Cleveland Highway at Bells Mill Bridge, according to Hall County Fire Marshal Scott Cagle. Cagle said the wreck involved four vehicles and a bicyclist. Three patients were taken by medical units to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Cagle said he did not know the extent of the injuries.

The accident apparently caused a fuel leak that prompted the closure of the highway.
