AUBURN - Barrow County Sheriff's deputies Monday were investigating a home invasion in Auburn.

Deputies responded Monday morning to the 900 block of Wexford Way, where a female teenager said two men forcefully entered the residence through a downstairs door while she was upstairs, according to authorities.

Deputies said the teen barricaded herself in a bedroom with two juveniles.

Authorities said the suspects did not harm the victims, but stole several items from the home.

"Obviously it's an important crime that happened, and we're treating it as such. We don't have any reason to believe that it's a random occurrence , a random victimization," Barrow County Sheriff's Lt. Matt Guthas said.

Investigators believe the incident is isolated and should not warrant additional concern for others in the area.

In addition to the two men, authorities believe others were involved.

"We believe that there were two males that entered the residence, and additionally, we have information that leads us to believe there was another male and another female who stayed outside," Guthas added.

So far there's no suspect description, but authorities continue to work the case.

"They (suspects) were concealed, so very little (information) was provided by the victims at this point," Guthas said.
