ATLANTA - The Georgia Department of Transportation's September bid letting released Friday includes three projects in northeast Georgia.

The three projects in our area are part of over $51 million in work announced by DOT.

The highest dollar project, nearly $1.6 million, is for replacement of a bridge and approaches on Galilee Church Road over the Middle Oconee River in Jackson County. Rogers Bridge Company of Atlanta got the contract for the work slated to end next September.

Other projects include bridge painting on Interstate 985 at Monroe Drive in Hall County and over the Gainesville Midland Railroad. Gulf Coast Contracting of Florida will do the $248,500 project, with a contract completion date in June next year.

There's also bridge painting work at other locations in Hall, as well as Gwinnett and Stephens counties. S & D Industrial Painting of Florida got that $608,500 contract.
