BETHLEHEM -- Flowery Branch rushed for minus-3 yards in the first half and saw five touchdowns called back on Friday -- and still battled its way past Apalachee 30-20 in Bethlehem.

The Falcons (4-2, 4-0 region 8-AAAAA) fell behind 14-3 at halftime but fought back with a vengeance in the second half -- going to the ground attack that has served them so well this season.

Flowery Branch finished the game with 262 yards rushing, including 203 yards for running back Justin Curry -- who put up 191 yards in the second half. Curry also caught four passes for 77 yards.

Falcons quarterback Jackson McDonald also finished 11 of 15 passing for 121 yards, while also rushing for a touchdown. Cameron Davis added one rushing score, while Will Filson converted a 32-yard field goal.

Flowery Branch excelled in special teams in the second half as well: kick returner Quinton Mayfield exploded for 128 yards on two returns, while Darius Curry averaged 27.2 yards on three punt returns. Curry also snagged an interception on defense.

The Falcons have won four straight games and will play host to Winder-Barrow next Friday.
