BUFORD - The 18-year-old girl who police say turned in front of a motorcycle last week, causing a crash that fatally injured a former Buford High School football star, has been charged in his death.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 18-year-old Caylie Edge of Lawrenceville was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail Thursday on charges of vehicular homicide and failure to yield. She has since posted bond.

Edge's arrest came on the same day 21-year-old Devin Durden died from the injuries he sustained in the Sept. 26 collision on Georgia Highway 20 near Gravel Springs Road.

Durden had been home from the Air Force Academy less than 24 hours at the time of the accident, which left him with multiple broken bones and a severed spinal cord.

Devin Durden was the son of Buford High School's Girls' Basketball Coach Gene Durden.
