CUMMING - A man operating what's known as a "power parachute" was stuck in a tree for roughly 45 minutes Thursday night after the apparatus crashed in Forsyth County.

Forsyth County Fire Lt. Debbie Lindstrom said a ladder truck was deployed to the Shady Grove Road area just before 6 p.m. following a 911 call about the incident.

"We had a gentleman in a tree, about 80 feet up in a tree, suspended by the chute and entangled in some of the limbs," she said.

Lindstrom said the man, who has not been identified, did not sustain any injuries.

"We were able to make access to the gentlemen, we secured him with some rope and a harness, and he was able to get onto the ladder and descend the ladder with a fireman under his own power," she said.

Lindstrom said they believe a gust of wind is responsible for blowing the parachute into the tree.
