TFC presidential inauguration set for Oct. 11

TOCCOA - Dr. Robert Myers will be inaugurated as the seventh President of Toccoa Falls College (TFC) Thursday, October 11. The Installation Ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Grace Chapel and Performing Arts Center. A reception will follow in the Lois DeLany Gymnatorium.

The ceremony will include a processional in full regalia with presidents from local and regional colleges in attendance. Former TFC presidents, Dr. Paul Alford (1979-2000) and Dr. Wayne Gardner (2004-2011) will participate in the ceremony along with local and state officials.

Dr. Myers, who was named president in April, and officially assumed the post on July 1, has been a part of Christian higher education for nearly 20 years.

Before assuming the TFC presidency, he held faculty appointments and served as the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Oklahoma Wesleyan University. He also served at Palm Beach Atlantic University as the Dean of the Rinker School of Business and the Interim Director of Technology. Prior to entering Christian higher education, Dr. Myers served as the Manager of Information Systems for the town of Palm Beach, Florida, and as a law enforcement officer for the state of Maryland. He earned a B.S. from the University of Maryland in Information Systems Management, an M.B.A. from Palm Beach Atlantic University, and a D.B.A. from Nova Southeastern University.
