According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, 39-year-old Mark Gary admitted to bribing former Gwinnett County Commissioner Shirley Lasseter in 2009 with $30,000 worth of casino chips in exchange for her vote on a solid waste transfer station he had plans to develop.
Gary's sentencing is set for Jan. 3.
Lasseter has been sentenced to 33 months in prison on an unrelated bribery charge. Lasseter's son John Fanning and Hall County businessman Carl "Skip" Cain have also been sentenced on bribery and drug charges.
