Boys basketball: Trojans pull away at East Hall for 12th straight win

RABBITTOWN -- The North Hall boys basketball team keeps rolling.

The Trojans won their 12th straight game and moved to 19-3 on the season on Saturday night courtesy a 79-72 victory over East Hall in Valhalla.

North Hall exploded for 26 points in the third quarter to take the lead in a game the Trojans trailed 33-28 at halftime. The push gave the visitors a 54-47 advantage that North Hall held the rest of the way.

Ethan Smith put up a game-high 32 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to pace the Trojans, while Avery Cagle and Preston Smith scored 12 points apiece. Cagle also went 8 of 9 from the free throw line.

East Hall (14-6) got balanced scoring from its ine-up, as Hayden Chapman led the way with 20 and JC Hampton managed 18. Chris Orr also chipped in with 15 points, and Brian Edwards added 13.

The Vikings will look to bounce back at Banks County on Tuesday in Homer.

North Hall, meanwhile, will go for No. 13 on Tuesday at home against White County.
