ATLANTA - Motorists will notice a couple of new things in our area starting next week, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

In Gwinnett County, a new Interstate 85 Express Lane access point is slated to open. The 4,500 foot southbound access will begin with dashed lines south of the State Route 120 overpass.

Weather permitting, DOT workers were expected to re-stripe the road Sunday morning.

In Commerce, a new traffic signal is scheduled to go operational Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of State Route 98 and B. Wilson/King Roads.

The signal went into flash mode last week.

"Please slow down through the area while crews finish their work at the new signal. Once the signal is operational, please use extra caution until you get familiar with the new signal location. Remember to watch out for other drivers until they get used to the new signal too," said Georgia DOT District Traffic Engineer , Brent Cook.
