GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Greenville forward Justin Bowers had two goals and an assist including the game-winning tally in the second, as the Road Warriors knocked off the Gwinnett Gladiators 4-2 Saturday night at the BI-LO Center. The Glads (20-12-6-3) remain in the first in the South Division despite the loss, but lose ground to the Warriors. (22-16-1-1).

Greenville made the most of their chances on the power play, as they went 3-for-7 on the night. Gwinnett managed one goal on the man advantage in six chances. Road Warriors goaltender Bryan Hince (26 saves) won his fifth straight start since joining the team, while Jeff Jakaitis (28 saves) took just fourth loss in his last 12 starts for Gwinnett.

The Warriors got the best of Gwinnett in the opening twenty minutes. Justin Bowers notched a power play goal late in the stanza as Greenville out-shot Gwinnett 11-5.

In the second the Gladiators showed signs of life, as Pat Galivan put a low wrist shot past Greenville goalie Bryan Hince through a heavy screen in front on the power play at 8:11. Nikita Kashirsky and Brad Miller had the assists and the game was tied at one.

However Greenville answered back with two goals of their own. Rangers prospect Jason Wilson and Bowers cashed in at 10:37 and 19:15, to give the Road Warriors a 3-1 edge into the third.

The Glads again cut into the deficit, as Kashirsky went top shelf with a one-timer off a fantastic feed from Bryan Brutlag for his eight tally of the season at 5:08 of the third. Miller also added a helper, and the Gladiators had the momentum.

That changed at 10:15 after a slashing call on Gwinnett defenseman Shane Sims, as Warriors forward Jeff Prough cashed in on the ensuing power play chance to give Greenville back a two-goal lead they would not reliquish.

Both teams meet again Sunday at 4:05 p.m. at the BI-LO Center.
