Girls basketball: Lakeview gets win over Athens Academy

WATKINSVILLE -- Lakeview Academy led virtually from start-to-finish in taking a41-24 win over Athens Academy Friday night in Region 8-A girls action.

The Lady Lions (8-6, 3-2 in Region 8A-A) led just 19-13 at halftime but held Athens Academy to just 11 second half points. Lakeview blew the game open in the fourth quarter outscoring the Lady Spartans 11-4 down the stretch.

Kaylee McClendon led Lakeview Academy with nine points.
