ATLANTA - If you missed the job fair in Habersham County a couple of weeks ago, you'll get another shot at one in the area early in October.

The Georgia Department of Labor's (GDOL) Toccoa Career Center, along with several other local organizations, will sponsor a job and career expo for employers and job seekers Friday, Oct. 7, from noon 'til 3:00 at the Currahee Campus of North Georgia Technical College, on Georgia Highway 17 south in Toccoa.

Local employers and GDOL staff members will conduct hour-long workshops at 11 a.m. on What Employers Are Looking For, Employment Strategies, Resume Hot Tips, and What Does Your Application Say About You?

Other event sponsors include Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce, Northland Cable Advertising, WNEG Radio, North Georgia Technical College, and the Northeast Georgia Employer Committee. Employer committees are groups of local business representatives who establish and maintain working relationships between employers and GDOL career centers.

The job and career expo will feature approximately 50 employers, educational institutions, and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers. Some employers will be hiring, while others will be discussing possible future employment opportunities.
